As we approach the final push of our annual Fun(d) Run, we are at 87% of our fundraising goal! I want to take a moment to share why this fundraiser matters so much to our school.
Nearly 99% of the budget Atlanta Public Schools allocates to Mary Lin goes directly toward staffing. This reflects an intentional commitment to keeping our class sizes smaller than limits set by the state. Smaller classes give teachers more opportunities to know students deeply, differentiate instruction, and provide the support each child needs to thrive.
That commitment also means limited school-based funding remains for many of the resources and experiences that make Mary Lin special. This is where our incredible community makes a difference.
Fun(d) Run donations help us:
Invest in high-quality instructional materials and curricular resources that strengthen teaching and learning while reflecting the diversity of our school community
Provide meaningful professional learning for our staff so that we continue growing alongside our students.
Curate engaging, project-based learning experiences for students to hone their critical thinking skills in authentic ways.
Make capital improvements to our school and learning spaces that would be difficult to fund otherwise - such as the habitat and (soon-to-be) Outdoor Classroom!
Expand enrichment opportunities so that our students can explore their interests, discover their talents, and access programming that goes beyond core academics.
When you support the Fun(d) Run, you help us do both: protect the smaller class sizes we value and provide the rich programming and resources our students deserve.
Every contribution, at every level, makes a meaningful difference. Thank you for investing in Mary Lin and helping create extraordinary opportunities for all of our Rockets!
I hope to see you tomorrow morning at the Fun(d) Run and enjoy the sneak peek at the shirts for each grade level in the above picture!
